Fundraising Projects and Programs

Jammin' With Paula

Be a part of raising donations through our jam, jelly and preserve making sessions. Contact Paula Seitz-Netherda (our Preserves Queen) to find out dates, time and locations, so you can participate in making the preserves that help fund our programs. We happily accept donated fruit, jars or any of the ingredients that help create our low sugar, all natural jams, jellies and of course, preserves...the product that started it all!

"Voluntourism"

We promote awareness to the plight of at-risk children through facilitating visits to our sponsored work sites. We offer consulting services and volunteer work time to nutritional food programs and primary schools. Our 'Voluntourism' program travels to Africa once or twice a year to provide HOPE Preserve supporters with a venue for hands-on involvement at the school and soup kitchen. You can use your time and energy to make a difference in the world. Explore, tour and volunteer all in one great journey. A volunteer vacation will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will change your life as much as it will impact the lives of those you are working with.

The Suitcase Project

Voluntourist (or anyone else traveling to Africa) can tote along an extra suitcase packed full of teaching materials, supplies and other donations and personally deliver it to Namibia and/or our sister school sites. The Suitcase Project is a successful on-going project that has already delivered hundreds of pounds of donations to our sister school. We continually collect goods and funds to fill suitcases ready for travel to Namibia.

Events

A few times a year, HOPE Preserves organizes events to bring our supporters together for a social as well as a fundraising occasion. Some gatherings are fun for the whole family, while others are intended for just adults. We offer interesting speakers, great music, slide shows, wine tastings, auctions and more to our guests. Watch our Events and News Page for upcoming affairs.

The HOPE Preserves Shop and Auctions

HOPE Preserves is a non-profit fundraising organization. Some of our fundraising is accomplished by offering preserves as thank you gifts for donations. We collect and auction donated goods to help raise funds for our wonderful projects. The auctions and the HOPE Preserves Shop are held at our fundraising events throughout the year. We bring back fantastic African souvenirs and folk art to offer in our shop too. Collectables can be found in the Safari West gift shop in the HOPE Preserves area.

Riebli School

For over 10 years, Riebli students and their families have supported Sister School Projects in Africa. This year they have chosen HOPE Preserves as their focus. A Pen Pal Program, informative global awareness assemblies and mini-fundraisers are scheduled throughout the year to connect our students with their new friends in Namibia, Africa.

Scholarships

HOPE Preserves believes in giving children hopes and dreams for their futures. During visits to our sister schools, certain students exhibit extraordinary motivation, aptitude and determination. We want to develop a scholarship program that would target a few of the most promising students and help support them towards realizing their full potential. We hope to finance their schooling by funding and following them through the Kilimanjaro School and on to a university or vocational school. This is our most recent project. We are on a fact finding mission to discover the costs and details of this new venture.

Recycle

How would you like to be a recycle coordinator at your workplace, at your school, in your neighborhood or just at home? Be in charge of collecting aluminum cans, small plastic water bottles and computer ink cartridges to be recycled in exchange for money! Our Head Recycle Coordinator will arrange pick up and delivery of recycled donations, so all you need to do is collect. This is a perfect way to help save our planet and give to vulnerable children. DIY (Do-It-Yourself)

Do you have an idea for a fundraiser you can sponsor? Do you want your group to organize an event? Is there a fundraising opportunity we can tap into? We are delighted to encourage your efforts to raise funds for HOPE Preserves.
