Family Dinner and Meeting at Safari West
Wednesday, November 17, 2010, 5:00-9:00pm
HOPE Preserves and Safari West welcome Patricia and John, our Sister School founders, who have traveled from Namibia to present their projects.
Eat while wild animals roam nearby! Enjoy dinner, presentations, silent auction and door prizes. $5 for kids age 12 and under, $10 for adults.
The evening is catered by the famous, award winning Michelle Marie Patisserie and Worth Our Weight (a culinary apprenticeship program for underserved young people), both in Santa Rosa, CA.

We are going back to Africa! Guided by Board Member Joanne Borovoy, employees from Safari West are headed to work at our sister school in Katutura, Namibia for three weeks this spring.

A Garden Grows in Namibia

The founders and co-directors of Hope Initiatives Southern Africa - Patricia Sola and John Mafukidze - are visiting VIVA, The Culinary Institute of Florence and Italian Cultural Center.
- 7:00-7:30PM - Mingle with fruit, cheese, sweets, tea and coffee.
- 7:30-8:30PM - Doug, Patricia and John will give their presentation.
- 8:30PM - Questions & conversation
The event is free. Slow Harvest & Slow Food Sonoma County North seek to raise awareness for this worthy project.

Friends, food and music to benefit Hope Initiatives in Namibia

Project Open Hand and Food For Thought invite you to this Savory Thymes event, in support of our partnership with Hope Initiatives in Namibia. It will be a special afternoon of friends, food and music at Hillside Gardens in Mill Valley with Guests of Honor Patricia Sola and John Mafukidze, Founders and Co-Directors of Hope Initiatives. Guests will enjoy an exquisitely prepared African meal, live West African music, and Hillside Gardens’ beautiful grounds. Patricia Sola will give a slide show presentation about the amazing work of Hope Initiatives. Tickets are $100 each and all proceeds will directly support Hope Initiatives in Windhoek, Namibia.
